Saur - A dog that was "king" of Norway for three years during the 11th century AD. The briefly deposed king put forth his dog made as one of two choices for a ruler over the nation. The people had to decide whether to have the king’s slave or his dog. The citizens chose Saur over the slave.

DOGS IN HISTORY

A dog which sailed aboard the Mary Rose ship which sank in 1545 has taken up residence in the Mary Rose Museum at the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

Annubis in NYC

I find this very creepy and delightful. Plus, I'm really into Lost and there's an Annubis statue featured on the show.
